 Une
histoire de foot depuis 1921...
FC Martigues est fondé en 1921. Il etait un club
amateur jusqu'au des années 70 avec un palmares modest, mais en
1968 l'equipe de moins de 18 ans du FCM a gagné la coupe Gamberadella.
En 1974 FCM a trouvé le Division 2 et en 1993 il
est promu en Division 1. La plus grand saison du club etait en 1994 / 95
avec des jouers comme Durand, Tholot, Collot et Bernabia. FCM a fini 10eme
au classement.
Pendant l'intersaison de 1995, le club a perdu quelques
jouers et en consequence FCM a retrouvé la D2. Apres un grand desillusion
en 1997 - avec un troiseme place, mais seulement deux ont été
promu - la saison prochaine a fait catastrophique.
Sans une victoire a domicile depuis janvier, FCM a descendu
en National. Pendant la saision 98 / 99 le club a fait l'essential et a
éviter un retrogradation en CFA, mais cette saison est capital pour
les provencaux. Si le club ne retrouve pas le D2, il perdra son statut
professionel.

the Coupe Gamberadella - the equivalent of the FA Youth Cup.
In 1974 the club was promoted to Division Two and in 1993 it went
up to the first division. The greatest season in the club's history was
in 1994 / 95, with players such as Durand, Tholot, Collot and Bernabia
and the team finished 10th in the league.
During the close season of 1995 the club lost several players and
as a result they were relegated in 1996. After the great disappointment
of finishing third in 1997 when only two team went up, the following season
was catastrophic.
Without a home win from January the team were relegated to the National.
Last season they did enough to avoid another relegation to the CFA, but
this season is a vital one for the club. If they fail in their bid to win
promotion to Division Two the club will lose its professional status.
